I have been teased endlessly for not owning a single warm jacket. I have plenty of coats (mostly BCBG, Barneys CO-OP label) but nothing to wear for warmth. “Wait, that doesn’t make sense?” you say. My coats are all 3/4 sleeve. =)
I have cardigans, jackets and coats galore but I don’t know *how* I managed to build up a collection entirely of 3/4 sleeves! The ones that ARE full-length are not warm at all and really just fashion jackets. Which is not that big of a deal if you live in LA.
But, I’ve always wanted a big, warm, fuzzy, oversized jacket and during my last trip to San Francisco I found one! It was definitely a necessity… I packed completely wrong for my trip (I guess SF’s definition of “warm weather” doesn’t mean tank, shorts and flip-flops) and when we got to the city it started to sprinkle a little bit and I was desperate for something wrong. In the CO-OP section at Barney’s I found this super soft zip-up by Blue No+ch Jeans that was all I could ever want in a warm jacket!
It is double-layered with a super soft, fuzzy collar and goes for $168. There are snap buttons and a long zipper in the front that go all the way up (so it looks like a loose cowl neck when completely closed and it’s fitted around the body so it’s flattering even though you wear it loose. I bought it in all black because it’s perfectly versatile to go dressy (with a dress and tights) or casual (with a pair of torn up jeans).
